BAe 146-300/AVRO RJ-100 Version 2.0

Aircraft Model for FS2002 ONLY

by Jon Murchison ( jonmurchison@hotmail.com )

____________________________________________________________________________________________

This aircraft model has been designed using FSDSPro by Abacus. It features a 32 sided
fuselage, spinning wheels, 3D spinning engine fans, 3D flightdeck with crew, fully animated
gear, flaps, ailerons, spoilers and night lighting. The main gear 'hang' while in the air,
and take the load of the aircraft once on the ground.

The model also features what I refer to as 'IS' technology. This is 'inbuilt scenery',
which will appear once the engines have been shut down (CTRL+SHIFT+F1) This new model
features an interactive component of 'IS' which allows the user to turn on and off various
parts of the 'IS' scenery to suit his/her own wishes. Use the rudder (Enter and O/ins key
on the Numeric Keypad (NP)), elevator (The 8 and 2 keys on the NP), and aileron keys (4 and
6 on the NP) to activate/dis-activate the 'IS' scenery. Play around to see what keys do what.
Check the IS_help file for more details.

The model also features 'Pushback' technology. When you start the engines (CTRL+F1) and
leave the landing lights turned off, the push back tug will stay connected to your aircraft
until a successful engine start has been completed. Using FS2002's pushback feature (SHIFT+P)
brings 'Pushback' technology to life. Once engine 4 has started, the tug will disconnect and
leave you to your flight.

I run a Pentium III-800, 128MB ram, 32MB NVidia tnt2 M64 graphic card and find I get excellent
frame rates. The model was BETA tested on a Pentium II-166 (low frame rates) and also a
Pentium III-450 (Good frame rates)

1. INSTALLATION

Copy the folder named "LanChile Bae 146" to the aircraft main folder of Microsoft flight smilator 2002.

THAT'S IT!

2. KNOWN MODEL FLAWS

This model is my first serious effort at an aircraft model built from scratch, and has
taken in excess of 8 months of work to complete. In that time my skill and knowledge
with FSDS has grown, so this model represents the latest experience I have. Because of
this the model will always be evolving and newer versions will be released from time to
time to take advantage of my growing skill. While every effort has and is made to
optimise performance, results cannot be guaranteed on all systems.

At present there is a small problem with the way the textures sit above the front left
door, a couple of polygons disappear at certain angles under the right wing close to the
fuselage, the flaps do not follow the line of the flap guides, the middle wing lights are
not positioned in the accurate position, and no outer landing lights appear at all during
the day. You will also notice what looks like a clash of parts at the left wingtip. There
are bound to be other bits and pieces you may notice, so if you feel inclined to give me
some feedback about something which doesnt look quite right then feel free to e-mail me.
This is a work in progress so update patches will come out from time to time to address
these issues.

6. ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I'm 35 and currently work as a manager for New Zealand Post looking after 23 'posties'
(mailmen for non NZers), and prior to that was a postie myself. I have also been known
to dabble in commercial radio broadcasting.

I have been into flight simming for about 16 years. I began on the Sinclair ZX Spectrum,
moved to the Commodore 64, and remember going wow when I got Flightsimulator for that.
It was a in 1999 that I got my first 'real' PC, and FS2000 almost straight away with it.
In 2000 I met Peter Lohr and then really started to look at repainting aircraft at first,
and then building them myself. It was in 2000 that Aircraft Repaints New Zealand was born,
and the rest as they say, is history.

10. Information of the LanChile Textures

I would like to start by thanking Jon, for allowing to repaint his airplane with LanChile's Livery. Once again hey, thank you!

To my friends: Tato, Nani, Javier (osorno), Javier (javisabi), Valentina, Erich, Ricardo, Martin, Rodrigo, Jose Luis, Helmuth, and all the other pilots of the Universtiy Federico Santa Maria....THANK YOU!!

IMPORTANT: This is very important, i would like to dedicate this airplane to the pilots of Lanchile's Bae 146 that crashed in Puerto Williams. IT WASN'T THE PILOTS' FAULT!!! BEFORE THE AIRPLANE LANDED, THE WHOLE RUNWAY WAS SPRAYED WITH AN ANTI-ICE SUBSTANCE (IT GETS VERY COLD IN SOUTHERN CHILE). WELL GUESS WHAT: THIS SUBSTANCE MADE THE RUNWAY SLIPPERY, WHICH MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE AIRPLANE TO LAND. HORRIBLE HUH? I KNOW.
